The Big Load In The Amazon
About eighty percent of all logging operations in the Amazon rainforest are illegal. Trees are cut from protected areas and floated down river to legal logging sites. Greenpeace opened an office in the Brazilian Amazon in 1999 to help the Brazilian government crack down on illegal logging.
